Wordle me this...

What the heck is Wordle you might be asking? Wordle is one of the coolest and most fun FREE(my favorite word) online software programs around. You enter/type in text and it creates "beautiful word clouds". I was thinking what better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with a word cloud of lovey dovey words. PLUS, this could make a very inexpensive gift for that special someone, friend or family member. I had way too much fun making Wordles today, the possibilities are just endless.

In case you like the Valentine's Day words I used, but would like to change the colors/font/layout (I promise it won't hurt my feelings), just paste in this text to create your cloud:

Valentine Valentine Valentine Valentine Love Love Love KISS KISS Cards Hands Lovebird Candles Forever Fun Balloons Touch Heart Heart Heart Princess Pink Crazy Chocolate Chocolate Memorable Together Eternity Felt Feel Embrace Tulips Kisses Hugs Hugs Lifetime Life Sweetheart Sweetheart Sweetheart Smoochies Joy Lover Sweet Sweet Princess Roses Tulips

Now you may have noticed some of the words are listed twice, or maybe even more than that - there's a reason for that. Do you see how certain words are larger than others in my word cloud? That's because the program knows that I want that word to be more prominent based on the number of times I listed it in the cloud text. I really wanted "Valentine" to be the largest so I made sure to repeat it the most.

Here's how it looks when you don't repeat the words, and they all come out the same size:

The "Grilled Cheese" font, and "Mostly horizontal layout" was my personal favorite:

Also, and this is important, you CANNOT go "back" to edit text after a cloud is created. I learned this the hard way. So I got in the habit of highlighting and copying my text before clicking "go" and creating my cloud. This way if I want to take out a word or make a word bigger I still had the original text saved and didn't have to keep re-typing each time. There's no option to save your work as a jpg or gif so you will need to take a screen shot of your work - or simply just print it in the final view.

This one turned out to be my favorite one:

I'd love to see what designs you come up with, I hope you have as much fun with it as I did!

Look what I found at the grocery store, weird...

I hope you're having a great week, talk to you soon!
